Is there any value to IT Certification these days? Years ago we faced the issue of paper MCSE’s where Microsoft certification became devalued at that time, because “anyone” could have a career in IT. Most of those people didn’t survive IT and when companies cut back on staffing after Y2K they were to first to be let go. So today, the question becomes whether or not today’s IT professionals should work through the certification path in their area of expertise, is experience more important, or both.
