Situation:

I recently ran into an issue with a user that had Office 2013 with all of the latest updates, Internet Explorer 9, and the Lync 2010 client. They were having a problem when opening documents within SharePoint 2010.

Issue:

Every time the user went to open a document in their SharePoint site Internet Explorer would crash. The only way the user could function in SharePoint was to sign out of and exit Lync.

Resolution:

The user did a repair of the installation of Office 2013. This allowed them to resume normal functionality of SharePoint and Lync.
