VMworld 2019 will be here before you know it! Here are some of the things you need to know to make the most of your experience, if you will be there in person or joining in the fun online. VMworld will take place on August 25 – August 29 in 2019.
The VMworld 2019 Venue
After several years in Las Vegas, VMworld 2019 is returning to Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. In case you did not know, VMworld was moved to Las Vegas, as Moscone Center was being renovated. This means everything is all new, and it will be sure to be a great experience for anyone attending in person.
If you are attending VMworld 2019 in person, be sure to take at look at the Activities on the VMworld site, including evening events and multiple lounges to network at during the day.
VMworld 2019 Content Tracks
If you have not yet filled your agenda for VMworld, be sure to take a look at all of the great sessions available to you. The main tracks covered at this VMworld are:
- Hybrid Cloud
- Multi-Cloud
- Modern Apps
- Networking and Security
- Digital Workspace
- Emerging Trends
Within these tracks, the content is once again divided into different areas of interest. For example, in the modern apps track, there are sessions on the business-critical apps we all hold dear, as well as a track dedicated to kubernetes.
It is very interesting to see the progression of VMworld content tracks over the years. If you take a look at the tracks offered in 2017, you can see some subtle differences that show exactly how much the industry has evolved in two short years. Several years ago it was all about the transformation organizations had to undertake to modernize their data centers and resources.
Now, many organizations have already begun or even completed their transformations, and it is about making the best use of current technologies, like hybrid cloud and determining their multi-cloud strategy. There’s also a big focus on both networking and security which have been put in the same track.
Within the networking and security tracks, the topics are divided into:
- Secure Application Infrastructure
- Network Edge
- Cloud Networking
- Telco and 5G
It has been very interesting to see VMware’s evolution in this space with products like VMware NSX as well as VMware vSphere Platinum which includes AppDefense. As the heart of today’s infrastructure VMware is uniquely positioned to help customers with their issues in both the networking and security space, which can often go hand in hand.
Get Certified and Save!
If you have been on the fence about taking that VMware certification test, VMworld 2019 is the place to make that jump. Why? Simple! You can save 50% on the price of any VCAP or VCP exam. In addition to discounted exams, be sure to stop by the Education and Certification lounge on Level 3 of Moscone West to ask the VMware Education staff any questions you may have.
