Melissa is an information technology infrastructure enthusiast, and Solutions Architect.  She has also been an engineer for several very large enterprise VMware environments. She has Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees focused in Electrical Engineering and Secure Networked Systems Design. In 2016 she achieved the VMware Certified Design Expert Certification in Data Center Virtualization.

Phoummala is an IT professional with a broad range of experience that includes Microsoft software, VMware, and Enterprise storage. Phoummala has worked in IT consulting, IT operations even supporting a global messaging, enterprise storage and backup environment supporting employees in more than 30 countries. She holds several certifications, including an MSCA and MCTS in addition to be named vExpert 2014.

Phoummala is also one of the co-leaders of the Central PA VMUG. Some of her favorite platforms and technologies are Microsoft Exchange server, mobile devices, and VMware.
