Money is one of those topics that is always interesting, but there isn’t one best way to manage it.  It is also one of those things that we never seem to have enough of.  Living paycheck to paycheck and working hard.  This is also a topic that there is always something more to learn about.  Here are some good book reads I have found that teach money 101 and onward.  For getting started these 5 books can help with the mindset for smart money.  Also, each book image below is directly linked to Amazon so you can take a closer look for yourself to see if it will be help for you.

The Richest Man in Babylon

This is the book I wish someone had recommended to me very early into adulthood.  It’s a great money 101 book.  That being said, like most of us there is still some very useful information and worst-case scenario it could be a recap of what you know.  It’s a short read, good review and if you are like me you will learn something.

Think and Grow Rich

Another money mindset book, this book has been updated to include some modern-day mindset.  It’s a book that demonstrates not only how hard people work to have money, it’s about how hard they work to keep it.  Money doesn’t just grow on trees; it takes mindful intention to have it and most importantly keep it.  Enjoy!

Rich Dad Poor Dad

This book is fantastic for shifting your money mindset.  For example, it stresses the entrepreneur mindset, hard work and what it takes to save.  The concept of paying yourself first is key in this book.  They goal being to budget in a way that you decide how much you want to save, before you determine how much you will spend and payout to those you owe.  Ultimately emphasizing you should be saving first to grow your finances.  It’s very good!

The Power of Zero

For the person looking to their future retirement this book offers tips on how to retire in the zero-tax bracket.  Yes, you read that right.  Most people retire with a 401k and defer their tax payment until retirement which from a tax perspective will cost you more.  Taxes today are likely to be less today than the day you retire.  How to leverage investments that allow you to pay your taxes up front and know that when you retire the taxes are paid and nothing more is owed.  It’s interesting and until I read this book it wasn’t something I had even considered.  There are more suggestions in here to on how to get to the zero-tax bracket and grow your finances.

Your Money or Your Life: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Achieving Financial Independence

For this one, the title really say it all.  Nothing more and it really was a great book to work toward helping grow your finance.

Concluding Thoughts on Smart Money

There isn’t one way to manage your finances.  Everyone has different incomes and comfort-levels with how to save, or simply finding ways to save.  All of these books can serve as a foundational guide to engage a smart money mindset and help grow your finances today.
